Grooming Space Rules – Applies to All
 
  • Reservations will open at the same time as the premium is published at BaRay Events.
  • Grooming Reservations will close on December 27, 2023.
  • No Grooming Reservation refunds after December 28, 2022.  All authorized refunds will be issued less any merchant fees.
  • A limited number of Grooming Reservations may be available for purchase at the Cluster desk in the ShowPlex on Friday and Saturday of the show.
  • Grooming Reservations requests will be acknowledged by email.
  • Grooming spaces will be assigned in the order requests are received.
  • Limit of five (4) spaces per reservation request.
  • Requests for adjacent grooming spaces must be submitted online (at the same time to be considered), HOWEVER adjacent spaces cannot be guaranteed.
  • All Reserved spaces have electricity.
  • A $25 fee will be charged for all NSF transactions.  All reservations made on-line with the reservation form will require payment by credit or debit card in US dollars.
  • Requests for specific location or adjoining spaces will be considered, but not guaranteed.
  • Extension cords must be plugged directly into an electrical outlet and will, except for approved multi-plug extension cords, serve only one portable appliance.
  • Minimum 14-gauge extension cords shall be used to extend electrical service.
  • The ampacity of the extension cords shall not be less than the rated capacity of the portable
  • appliance supplied by the cord.
  • Any cord crossing an aisle, MUST be taped down with gaffer tape.  Power crossing aisles must be approved by Cluster staff.
  • NO EXERCISE PENS allowed in any building other than the Centennial Building (Bubble), and those MUST have impervious underlayment, and be kept clean, at all times.  Newsprint or the equivalent must be used as absorbent.  Wood chips are not allowed.
  • Spaces are approximately 10x10-ft or 100 SF. The Grooming Reservation fee covers Friday through Monday. There is no reduction in fee for fewer days.
  • There will be a limited number of “day of show” grooming spaces without power in the Expo Hall. For ALL “day of show” spaces, equipment MUST be removed at the end of the day OR BE CONFISCATED.
  • There are NO Dogs allowed to be left in any buildings on the Fairgrounds overnight.
 
 GROOMING BUILDING HOURS
 
  • Grooming buildings are available for set-up on Friday January 12, 2024, AFTER 11:00AM.
  • Please do not try to enter grooming buildings or facilities prior to this time.
  • Grooming buildings are open:
    • Friday: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM
    • Saturday and Sunday: 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM
    • Monday: 6:00 AM – 2 hours following Best in Show event

 

LOAD/UNLOAD & PARKING
 Load/Unload areas are provided AS A COURTESY outside each grooming building and there is a 15-minute limitation.  Please adhere to this limitation to avoid losing this courtesy.

  • Exhibitors can access Load/Unload areas by entering the Fairgrounds through the Orange Gate on the west side of the Fairgrounds (off Fairview Avenue).
  • For the safety of exhibitors and dogs remember to keep flashers on and travel 5 MPH or less.
  • General day parking is available in Purple and Blue ($8/day or $20 for 3-day pass).

BATHING FACILITIES
 Due to the low temperatures, NO bathing facilities will be provided at the Winter Cluster.

  • There is a self-dog wash in downtown Puyallup, located just a few blocks from the Fairgrounds.  “Wash the Dog” has several elevated tubs, products, towels and dryers.

Grooming Space Buildings - Grooming Space Reservations are now closed.  Exhibitors can purchase any remaining spaces ($80) at the Show starting Friday morning.  Visit the Cluster Desk on the east end of the Showplex Building. The Cluster has arranged for reserved grooming spaces in three (3) buildings at the Washington State Events Center, all in close proximity to the ShowPlex Building where the Conformation event is conducted.   Grooming spaces will be located in: 1) the Pavilion; 2) Centennial Building (Bubble); and if needed:  3) the Expo.  The Pavilion and Centennial Buildings will be filled first, then, if needed, the Expo.  Reservations requested for specific buildings, or adjoining spaces (if reservations submitted together) will be considered, however cannot be guaranteed. Space are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.  A maximum of four (4) contiguous spaces is allowed per reservation.
 
Each reserved space is approximately 100 square feet.   Most spaces are approximately 10x10'.   Center aisles in the Centennial (Bubble) building are approximately 8x12'.  All paid, reserved grooming spaces have power.

About the Reserved Grooming Spaces
 
Three buildings are available for the Winter Cluster Grooming: Pavilion; Centennial Building, (called "The Bubble"), and the Expo Hall. All spaces will be assigned on the basis of preference, first come (registered), first served.  All reserved grooming spaces in these three building have electricity and a 15-minute Load/Unload area.
 
Pavilion - [SOLD OUT]   Most exhibitors prefer the Pavilion as it is fully enclosed and closest to the Showplex, where the conformation rings, event administration, and vendors are located.  It has restrooms, is climate-controlled and grooming is located on the first level with concrete floors.  No X-pens are allowed in this building.  The Obedience and Rally events take place on the second (2nd) floor.   In the absence of other preferences, the Pavilion will be assigned first until filled; approximately 134 spaces.
 
Centennial Building -  [SOLD OUT]  Also know at the “Bubble,” this structure is located south of the ShowPlex and has approximately 75 spaces in an arched membrane building.  The flooring in this building is asphalt concrete paving.  There are no bathrooms in the Bubble, however exhibitors can use the bathrooms are in the Showplex.  The Bubble is the only facility in which lined X-pens are allowed inside the building.  Note: privately-owned X-pens are not allowed inside or outside any other building.
 
Expo Hall [Spaces available for purchase ($80) at Show starting Friday morning 1/12.  Visit Cluster Desk on east end of ShowPlex Building] ]This building is located in the northwest corner of the Fairgrounds.  The building is also climate-controlled and has bathrooms. Spaces will be assigned in the Expo once the Pavilion and Bubble have been filled.  There are approximately 125 spaces in the Expo Hall.  No exercise pens are permitted in the Expo Hall.   Note: on Google Maps, the Expo Hall is labeled "Northwest Outdoor Alliance".
Grooming Space Reservations & Payment
 
  • Grooming Space Reservations open November 15, 2023 (via this webpage) at the same time BaRay publishes the Western Washington Winter Cluster Dog Show Premium.
  • Click the button to the right to access the Reservation form.
  • Fee is $80 per space.  There is a 4-space maximum.
  • Fee covers Friday (11:00 AM), Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. No reduction for lesser days.
  • Grooming Space Reservations MUST BE SUBMITTED AND PAID via ONLINE FORM
  • Grooming Space Reservations close Wednesday, December 27, 2023.  If any reserved spaces remain, they can be purchased at the Cluster Desk in the ShowPlex on Friday or Saturday of the show weekend for $80 per space.
  • No refunds after Thursday, December 28, 2023. All authorized refunds will be issued less any merchant fees.
  • Grooming Space Assignments will be emailed to each exhibitor the week of the Show.  These bulk emails sometimes end up in spam and/or junk folders.  If you have not received your Space Assignment email by Wednesday (January 10, 2024), please first check your spam/junk folder, or check back on this webpage for a listing of space assignments.
  • By submitting this reservation request, users agree to all show rules and requirements as stated on this reservation and in the Premium (whether they’ve read them or not).

“Day of Show” Grooming Spaces
There will also be a limited number of “day of show” spaces (with no power) available in the Expo building.  ALL “day of show” spaces, equipment MUST be removed at the end of each day OR BE CONFISCATED.  All grooming spaces will be clearly marked as “Reserved for XXX,” OR “Day of Show” spaces.  No other areas inside the Fairgrounds are authorized for grooming.

**Interested in a Free Grooming Space?**
We are looking for a few exhibitors to assist with grooming set-up for the January and July Cluster shows.  Those exhibitors who can commit to both days (January 11 and July 3, 2024), will receive a free grooming space at each show.  Set-up takes about 4 hours per show and is very physical (lots of up and down to measure spaces and place tape).   If interested, email Grooming Coordinator at pvdfgroomres@gmail.com   .

The Pavilion and Bubble are both sold out.  Reserved Grooming Spaces are still available in the Expo and can be purchased at the Show for $80, starting on Friday (January 12th).  Spaces are also still available for Mobile Grooming for $175 for Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon.  Visit the Cluster Desk on the east end of the ShowPlex Building to make and pay for your reservations.
