  • Event Date/Times:
    • Saturday, July 8, 2023, 8:00AM – 10:00AM

AKC Scent Work -  The sport of Scent Work celebrates the joy of sniffing and asks a dog to sniff to their heart’s content; turning a dog’s favorite activity into a rewarding game. In AKC Scent Work, dogs search for cotton swabs saturated with the essential oils of Birch, Anise, Clove, and Cypress. The cotton swabs are hidden out of sight in a pre-determined search area, and the dog has to find them. Teamwork is necessary as when the dog finds the scent, she/he has to communicate the find to the handler, who in-turn calls it out to the judge.

  • Trial Secretary:  Kathy Koren, K9ScentWorks.com
  • Event Dates: Saturday and Sunday, July 8 & 9, 2023

AKC Fast CAT® -  Fast CAT® (Coursing Ability Test) is a timed 100-yard dash where dogs run one at a time, chasing a lure. It’s over in a flash, and it’s nothing short of awe-inspiring to watch a dog run at top speed, ears back, eyes focused, legs strong. Fast CAT® is a terrific opportunity to introduce new participants to the world of AKC sports as it is one of the few events where all that is needed to compete is a dog’s natural instincts.

  • Trial Secretary:  Jamie Eggleston, Western Washington Hound Association
  • Event Dates:  Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 7, 8, 9, 2023
